Patio Amsterdam
Urban garden in the heart of Amsterdam
The garden as an extension of the house as a second living room: that was the briefing given to Rob Aben in 2008 when he started the design of this extraordinary garden. The acknowledged principle of sunken seating was deployed to provide shelter. A water element, that also serves as a wine cooler, was incorporated in the backrest. The sound of the running water dampens the acoustics of the city.
Together with Rob Aben, OR else worked on the Preliminary Design, Final Design, engineering and site supervision.
